We’ve had a few peculiar crop circles of late: the impeller near Tidcombe, and the ‘fruit shortcake’ at Zealls Knoll. Then this bizarre oddity was found amidst the wide fields of Roundway Down.

As with the previously mentioned circles, this one reminded us of something but we weren’t exactly sure what. Then, Nick Bull’s video of the formation (see below) made the penny drop. This curious circle reminds us of a chicken. If you can’t see it, or you think we’re having a laugh, then that’s fine. But we really do see a chicken, face-on with an open beak staring at us out of the wheat. It’s another matter entirely if the circle is meant to be a chicken—it probably isn’t—but now we’ve seen it there’s just no going back.
