It’s All Good

Today has been ‘one of those days’ here at The Croppie. So, we’re just going to say positive things until we move on into tomorrow.

Congratulations to Mark ‘Billy’ Breen for finally heeding our advice. He’s now posting his early bird photos on Facebook under the name ‘artrumours_from_abovegound’. It’s a cool name and we like the quirkiness of the spelling.

We’re delighted for Mark that he then changed his name again to Inspector_BS_Dronedivision (1 June 2026). It is good to see he is taking so much pleasure from the playful changes of identity.

Our thoughts?

We appreciate the consideration that has been given to the placement of this circle close to an unplanted area in the field. It shows a real attempt to incorporate anomalies and it feels like a nod to the close association the circles have had with odd and potentially paranormal forces.

Whilst the aesthetic of the design is not to our taste, we recognise that art is genuinely subjective, and we are sure there is a massive amount of love for this piece online. We hope it brings warmth to the makers and we apologise that, on this occasion, our aesthetic preferences haven’t aligned. Besides, what do we know? Perhaps we aren’t worthy?

We are enjoying the rustic feel that rounding off the six ends of the ‘Y’ has provided. It is genuinely artisanal and makes the circle feel handmade as a unique item.

Google Gemini has described this formation as possessing a ‘clean, iconic layout’, with ‘striking tri-symmetric geometry’ full of ‘minimalist elegance’, which ‘in a massive canvas like a farmer’s field requires precise surveying.’

Given that it does seem very early to see a crop circle in wheat, we hope that the crop doesn’t right itself back towards the sun too quickly. It would lovely for people to visit this formation.

We are really looking forward to learning the location of this circle and seeing the sunrise or sunset shots that will surely follow.
