Ah, beautiful Culliford Clump and barrows, what did you do to deserve this Team Ten Watt masterpiece shat out upon your sacred ground? And before anyone starts accusing us of spreading misinformation, the design for this clunky oddity was posted on Hine’s Facebook account just about a year ago. Look and compare with the image of the circle, above:

If the circle is meant to show that all crop circles are man made, then it doesn’t. It just shows that Hine’s work in the fields continues its terminal decline. He did far better on the beach not long ago when someone else did it for him.

What puzzles us most is why the geniuses of Team Ten Watt chose to place this thing so close to a corner of the field where the crop is springier, and where both tramlines and some kind of track detract from their work. Actually, looking at some of the not-so-smooth arcs, a few more tramlines could have been quite useful as a concealer. Really, if you’re going to build up your ego by reproducing a piece you’ve long had floating around online — Hine even used it as his Facebook profile photo at one point — at least do a better job than this.

Notably, Mark ‘Billy’ Breen wasn’t performing the 4.30am drone work this time. The job fell on this occasion to his rival, Frank Smithland, who just happens to be another of Hine’s circle making associates.
