Location: Hetty Pegler’s Tump, nr Nympsfield, Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire is one of Wiltshire’s neighbouring counties and occasionally hosts the odd stray circle. This simple, understated double-ringed formation popped up across the road from Hetty Pegler’s Tump, an ancient longbarrow on the edge of an escarpment between the villages of Uley and Nympsfield.

The site takes its name from the wife of 17th cenury land owner Henry Pegler. Whilst we don’t know what the Peglers would have thought about crop circles, we know this circle is situated beautifully.
