Perhaps the 2022 season has finally started? The first of the year to appear in barley has been found at alongside the old Roman road on the ridgeline at beautiful Chute Causeway in Wiltshire.

The placement of this formation is interesting, alongside a clump of trees and what looks to be a pond of some kind. The design has echoes of 2021’s circle at Crawley Down, together with a quintuplet motif similar to that which appeared at Enmill Lane a few weeks back.
Inside the central circle is a wonderful ground feature similar to a plaited basket.
